Sibilla Bjarnason


an established contemporary visual artist


Born in Latvia. Citizen of Latvia and Iceland. Resident of France, lives and works in Nice, France. After retirement from the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), where she was Professor and Chairman of Department of Paediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Odontology Sibilla Bjarnason has devoted her time to art. Working both in figural and abstract style she is exploring different materials and techniques and using modern technology as an aid to the manual aspect of her art.

Senior member of Société Nationale des Beaux Arts de France and Board member NGO Meadows she regularly co-curates major art events and participates in annual Salons of National Society of Fine Arts of France in Louvre, Grand Palais in Paris, Biennale of Venice as well as in numerous art exhibitions around the world. Her paintings are represented in many catalogues and, she has received numerous awards. Her artworks have been acquired by collectors in China, Belgium, Denmark,Germany, Finland, Iceland, Italy, France, Lebanon, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE and the USA.
